Can we have the capabilities to customize the components within a contact card? Being able to add a primary contact name would be helpful for customer pages that are company specific.

Hi @enwiel. Welcome to the NotionApps community! The contact card has email and phone number properites. You could show the name in addition to these values using the View Text component. Will that solve your use case?

Problem

A contact card shows email and phone. Customer pages that are about a company also need the person’s name, or the company name, on that card. The card’s own fields cannot be extended.

Why this is a workaround

The contact card is the email and phone block, with tap to mail and tap to dial. Name and company are ordinary text. A heading or a text component beside the card shows them. Custom fields inside the contact card were not added because those values already have components.

How to use it

  1. Open the details screen for the customer or the company.
  2. Add a Heading above the contact card. Bind it, or type it, as the name you want first: the contact’s name, or the company name. A heading is a view component. It shows a title on the details screen.
  3. If the name comes from a Notion property, add a view-data component bound to that property and place it directly above the contact card. Use the company property, the person property, or a formula that joins them.
  4. Leave the contact card bound to the email and the phone. Those stay tappable.
  5. If you need a second line, such as a role, add another text component under the heading and above the card.
  6. Publish.
  7. Open a customer that has a name, a company, an email, and a phone. Confirm the name is visible, and confirm the email and phone still open mail and the dialer.
  8. Open a customer missing a phone and confirm the card handles the empty value the way you expect. Fill the gap in Notion if the card should always show both.

Repeat the same heading on each screen that shows this contact. The card does not carry a name field of its own from one screen to another.
