New in NotionApps: hide screens from navigation and revert to previous published versions
We shipped two new features today to make NotionApps apps easier to structure and safer to publish.
Hidden Screens
Builders can now hide individual screens from app navigation. Use the new Show in navigation setting when a screen should exist in the app, but should not appear as a regular menu item. This is especially useful for:
- registration forms
- onboarding steps
- confirmation and thank-you pages
- helper or utility screens
- screens opened only after a button click or form submission
When Show in navigation is off, the screen is hidden from side navigation, bottom navigation, drawer navigation, and navigation groups. The screen still remains editable in the builder and can still be opened by configured actions, links, redirects, form submissions, and direct routes.
Important note: hiding a screen from navigation does not make it private or accessprotected. If you need to restrict who can access content, continue using the appropriate app privacy and access settings.
Version History Revert
Eligible builders can now revert an app to a previous published version.
If a recent publish introduces a mistake, Version History lets you restore a previous published version without rebuilding the app manually. A revert restores both:
- the live published app
- the draft builder state
The current app URL is preserved, and the revert is saved as a new live version so the history remains auditable.
Version History Revert is available on Pro, Premium, and Enterprise plans. Available previous versions depend on plan retention:
- Pro: 1 previous published version
- Premium: 3 previous published versions
- Enterprise: 6 previous published versions
Version History restores the NotionApps app configuration and published snapshot. It does not restore deleted Notion databases, pages, records, properties, billing settings, account settings, analytics, ownership, or custom-domain ownership.
Hidden Screens FAQ
Does hiding a screen protect it from access?
No. Hidden screens are removed from navigation only. They may still be reachable through actions, links, form submissions, redirects, or direct routes.
Can hidden screens still be edited?
Yes. Hidden screens remain visible in the builder so they can be edited, renamed, duplicated, moved, or deleted.
Can I link to a hidden screen from a button or form?
Yes. Hidden screens remain selectable as action targets and form redirect destinations.
Version History FAQ
What happens when I revert to a previous version?
The selected previous version is restored as the current live app and draft builder state. A new live version is created to record the revert.
Will my app URL change?
No. The current app URL is preserved. Does Version History restore deleted Notion data?
No. It restores the NotionApps app configuration and published snapshot only.
