New Feature: Navigation Groups are coming to NotionApps on June 14, 2026
We’re excited to share a new feature that will make larger apps much easier to organize: Navigation Groups.
Starting June 14, 2026, you’ll be able to group screens inside your app’s side navigation into collapsible sections. This is especially useful if your app has many screens and you want to keep the navigation clean, focused, and easier for users to browse.
Until now, every screen in the side navigation appeared as a separate item. That works well for smaller apps, but larger apps can quickly end up with long side menus. Navigation Groups give you a simple way to organize related screens together without creating extra pages.
For example, you can create groups like:
- Archive
- Reports
- Admin
- Past Years
- Resources
- Team Pages
- Client Sections
- Completed Projects
Then, you can place related screens inside each group. Your app users will be able to expand or collapse those groups directly from the side navigation.
This is great for use cases like:
- Storing older reports or yearly results inside an Archive group
- Grouping internal admin screens under Admin
- Organizing client-facing resources under Resources
- Keeping past projects available without cluttering the main navigation
- Separating active pages from historical or secondary pages
A few important details:
- Navigation Groups work with side navigation.
- Screens inside groups still behave like normal screens.
- Users can expand and collapse groups in the live app.
- Deleting a group does not delete the screens inside it.
- Empty groups will not appear to app users.
- After setting up Navigation Groups, you’ll need to publish your app for the changes to go live.
