A lot of NotionApps builders use the product to turn Notion databases into clean, secure apps for clients, members, teams, students, or field users.
For many apps, that is enough: users view records, submit forms, update information, and the data syncs back to Notion.
But some apps have a bigger problem:
What happens after someone submits, updates, approves, assigns, or moves work forward?
That is where we are taking NotionApps next.
We are opening beta access for new automation features that help NotionApps apps do more than collect data. The goal is to help your app route work, notify the right people, track status, support approvals, and keep conversations tied to the record.
You may be a good fit for this beta if you currently manage things like:
- Client requests that need follow-up
- Approval flows for managers, reviewers, or admins
- Field reports that need routing or escalation
- Support tickets or onboarding requests
- Inventory issues or exception handling
- Task handoffs between teams
- Notifications after a user submits or updates something
- Conversations that should stay connected to a record
You do not need to know how workflows or automation systems work. In fact, that is part of what we want to test: whether the new experience makes sense to real builders using real NotionApps apps.
For this beta, we are looking for a small number of builders who have an actual workflow they want to improve.
If selected, we may help you test one workflow such as:
“When a client submits this request, notify the right person, create a review item, and show the client the current status.”
Or:
“When a manager approves this item, update the record, notify the requester, and keep the decision history visible.”
If your NotionApps app only needs to display or edit Notion data, automation may not be necessary right now. But if you are doing manual follow-ups, checking records, sending reminders, copying updates, or explaining status outside the app, we would love to learn from your use case.

Beta access will be limited while we monitor feedback, stability, and support capacity.
This is a major step toward making NotionApps more than a frontend for Notion data. We want to build it with the people who are already running real work through their apps.
