Option to pin open the page TOC so that the titles are always visible and immediately clickable

The page-level TOC is always displayed as a graphic of the toc outline. To view the actual heading titles and navigate to specific sections, you have to hover over the outline.

This makes the page TOC painful to use. Also, in some cases, just moving the mouse over the TOC outline without selecting anything can cause the page to freeze until you move the mouse back again to “officially” indicate that you’re done with the TOC.

It would be nice to have additional page preferences for the TOC. The most important would be the ability to pin the page TOC open so that the headings are always visible, so that you can always immediately click a heading to go there. Would also be great to be able to shift the TOC to the left, which is a little more intuitive than the right.

Greetings,

Welcome to the community. Thank you for the feedback. Allow us a moment to digest your request and determine where this request would fit into our release schedule. We’ll get back to you soon.

This feature has been released; release notes and help documentation to follow.

I just updated my Notion desktop app (to 7.27.0) and I don’t see anything like what the documentation linked from the release notes describes.

The only option I can see is still the Customize Page option, which displays the TOC on/off toggle. Nothing to control whether the TOC is pinned open.

Was the option added to a different workflow?
